High Temperature Insulator Sheets

DME High-Temperature Insulator Sheets are used on moulds and dies between the top clamping plate and the stationary platen, and between the bottom of the ejector housing and the movable platen. The thermal insulating properties of this unique asbestos-free, glass-reinforced polymer composite inhibit heat transfer from the mould to the platen, or from the platen to the mould (depending on the application), which helps conserve energy and prolong machine life.

 

These sheets have excellent non-deformation characteristics and a compressive strength (340,000kPa @ 24°C), which is higher than asbestos and mica materials. Compression moulded for high impact strength, they are supplied micro-finished top and bottom, parallel within ±.05mm.

DME Jiffy Tite Plugs and Sockets are designed for use with plastic moulds and die cast dies for water, air or oil lines. Plugs and Sockets are available as a flow-thru, automatic shut-off or automatic shut-off with stemmed valves for uses as a 1 way or 2 way combination. Male Plugs, Female Plugs and Extension Plugs are available in BSP threads and have our unique Jiffy-Seal pre-applied thread sealant, eliminating the initial need for thread tape. Jiffy-Seal thread sealant can withstand temperatures up to 200ºC and pressures up to 1379 kpa.

DME Water Cascades are great for cooling moulds and die cast dies in hard to reach places. Their compact design makes them ideal when cooling cores or thick blocks in diecast dies. They can be rotated 360° without effecting their leak proof seal and can be connected or disconnected easily. 3 types of Cascades are available : Jiffy Tite, Nipple Type or Jiffy Socket type and our standard range of Bubbler Tubes in Brass or 304 Stainless can be used as replacements with DME Water Cascades.

Heat Transfer Pipes

Heat Pipes

DME Heat Transfer Pipes are designed to cool moulds fast and help reduce cycle times. They are made up of a vacuum tight copper tube containing a wick and internal no toxic fluid. One end of the heat pipe is an evaporator end, vaporizing the fluid. This vapour then travels through the Heat Pipe to the condenser end. At the condenser end, the vapour condensates back into liquid, giving up its latent heat in the process.

 

To complete the cycle the condensed liquid then travels along the wick, via capillary action, back to the evaporator section. DME Brass Plug Baffles are constructed entirely of high-quality brass with blades brazed to the plugs for long, dependable service. They provide a high-pressure seal through a deliberate difference of taper between the plug and the tapped hole.

 

The function of the baffle is to split the drilled waterline into two equal channels. As the heating or cooling medium enters, the baffle diverts the flow to travel up to and over the end of the baffle and down the other side. Clearance must be provided between the end of the baffle and the end of the drilled channel to provide adequate flow.

The DME Tracer Electronic Switching Flowmeter measures liquid flow rate and temperature while providing one programmable switching set point for high or low flow or for high or low temperatures. 8 to 28VDC power source operates the flowmeter to provide continuous monitoring of the process. The SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switch can be wired directly to an alarm circuit in a process control or other peripheral equipment. 3/8″ BSP to 2″ BSP threads provide leak free connections to existing plumbing.
